Capri cosa vedere - Monte Solaro - 2

Capri ed Anacapri

It's not's just Capri

Capri is an island at the entrance to the Gulf of Naples and the Punta della Campanella, facing the Sorrento peninsula. It is a mass of precipitous and almost inaccessible rocks. It has a small port (Marina Grande) and includes the towns of Capri and Anacapri. It was accessed by means of a staircase of 552 steps, cut into the rock. Today there is a carriage road. A funicular operates from Marina Grande to Capri. The island was the favorite stay of Augustus and Tiberius, who lived there during the last ten years of his life. It has many ruins of Roman monuments (villas Jovis, Damecuta and many others). It is a popular destination for Italian and foreign tourists; it boasts a very mild climate and has been one of the most popular seaside resorts since the last century.

Capri is an island that at times seems to be inhabited only by goats, an island that brings together the simplicity of living in contact with breathtaking nature with the ostentatious luxury of fishermen and VIPs who come from all over the world.
