The Historical Archive of the Royal Palace of Caserta was created by King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon on May 25, 1784, and tells in detail not only the entire history of the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Bourbons, but also that from 1400 until about 1950. It contains over 10,000 archival folders spanning over six centuries – from the 15th to the mid-20th century.
